The Volvo Car Corporation is now taking steps to enter the competitive and expansive SUV segment. At the international motor show in Detroit, the Volvo Adventure Concept Car (ACC) will give a glimpse of what is to come. "We want to prove that we are prepared to face up to the greatest in the SUV market," states Hans-Olov Olsson, president of the Volvo Car Corporation. It is important to note that the Volvo ACC is not the final product; customers only should expect to see this in dealer showrooms within the next two years. Rather, it will work as a “thermometer”, helping to gauge where the market’s expectations and demands are for a Volvo SUV. "We look forward to building a solid foundation for the entry of our product. Therefore, it is important for us to acquire customer feedback while we still have the opportunity to refine the product," adds Dieter Laxy, head of marketing, sales and service for Volvo Car Corporation. The title "Adventure" has been selected to demonstrate its ability to be included into the user’s lifestyle. The Volvo ACC will be suitable for all sorts of safe escapades, due to the blend of off-road capability, enjoyment, roominess, safety, and comfort. During the Detroit Motor Show, visitors can voice their opinions on the ACC through provided computer monitors.
