At the 2008 Paris Motor Show, Volvo Cars presented diesel variants of the C30, S40, and V50 models that boast fuel consumption of 4.4 and 4.5 litres per 100 km, respectively. The corresponding CO2 figures of 115 and 118 g/km make them the best-in-class by emissions in their segments. The C30, S40, and V50 feature an array of efficiency-enhancing features and carry the DRIVe emblem to signify their upgraded environmental properties. The DRIVe models draw upon the Volvo C30 Efficiency concept car introduced at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show. The CO2-reducing strategies present then will be put into production by the end of the year in all three models. "We wanted to show that excellent CO2 ratings are not exclusive to smaller diesel cars. With the Volvo V50 DRIVe we give customers who need more space the chance to make a proactive pro-environmental decision," said Volvo Cars President and CEO Fredrik Arp.
