Volvo S60 Concept

The concept car unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show in early January 2009 gave an indication of what the all-new Volvo S60 will look like when it's launched in 2010. "The all-new S60 will be one of the strongest players in a segment where the competition is razor-sharp," said Volvo Cars President and CEO Stephen Odell. The coupe-inspired lines of the original S60 are more noticeable in this next generation, giving the car a sporty and dynamic appearance. “The driving properties are better than in any previous Volvo,” Stephen Odell also said, confirming the promise given by its exterior design. On the inside, the Volvo S60 Concept is even more daring. The front of the car is characterized by its trapezoidal grille, with an enlarged iron mark and two lamps that highlight the bonnet's V-shape. Scandinavian inspiration The concept car has been created with inspiration from Scandinavian design and the Swedish coastline's cliffs and seas. As Steve Mattin, Volvo Cars Design Director, said, "Dynamic and with considerable character, but without appearing aggressive. This car is packed with a thrilling blend of drama and sensuality.”
