The Volvo V70 R comes with a one-of-a-kind active performance chassis using the Continuously Controlled Chassis Concept or Four-C Technology. This chassis allows the car to maintain both a high level of comfort and uncompromising road holding that is typically found in extreme sports cars. To make this possible, the shock absorbers in the car are fitted with sensors that enable the microprocessor to compute the motions of the car and adjust the stiffness of the shock absorbers to keep the car parallel to the road surface. This revolutionary chassis design is the first of its kind and was made possible thanks to the work of Öhlins Racing AB and shock absorber manufacturer Monroe, who have helped update information about the car 500 times per second.
