Alfa Romeo RL
The Alfa Romeo RL was produced between 1922-1927, being the first sport model after WWI from Alfa. Designed by Giuseppe Merosi in 1921, the RL had a straight-6 engine with overhead valves. Three of its version were: Normale, Turismo, and Sport.
The most remarkable variant was the RLTF (Targa Florio), the race version, which weighed half a normal RL variant, had seven main bearings instead of four, and a dual carburettor. In 1923, some well-known drivers were part of the Alfa Romeo race squad, such as Ugo Sivocci, Antonio Ascari, Giulio Masetti and Enzo Ferrari. Sivocci's car had a white background with a green cloverleaf symbol. Upon Sivocci winning the Targa Florio in 1923, the symbol then became Alfa's luck token for their race team.
A total of 2640 Alfa Romeo RLs were produced in total. Below is a list of its nine variants.
