Under the hood, technical specifications included a dohc I-6, 3995cc engine producing 282bhp at 5500rpm and 288lbs-ft at 3850rpm (with Vantage producing 325bhp at 5750rpm). It also featured a ZF 5-speed overdrive manual or Borg-Warner 3-speed automatic transmission with servo-assisted front and rear discs, a live axle, Watt linkage, trailing links, and coil springs and a 1474kg (3250Ibs) weight.
The original cost of the DB6 was £4,998 and a total of 1327 (excluding the Volante) were produced between October 1965 - July 1969. Its top speed was recorded as 148mph with a 0-60mph acceleration of 6.1 seconds.
