Aston Martin DB7 was initially equipped with a 6 cylinder supercharged engine. In 1999, major improvements were made by introducing the
Aston Martin DB7 Vantage, this being the first Aston Martin with a V12 engine.
Launched in 1993, the DB7 was the most successful of all Aston Martin models, outselling the DB4, DB5, and DB6 cars all combined. Since 1914, around 22,000 Aston Martin models have been created, including around 7000 DB7s. This demonstrated the significance of the DB7 in spurring growth for the company.
Famed for its timeless and stylish design, the Aston Martin DB7 underwent several modifications in its 10 year lifespan that added to its classic yet elegant look. In 2001, the annual global sales of the DB7 accounted for 1339 vehicles, an almost 50% surge since 1999. This is a result of a two year design and development project examining all aspects of the DB7's design and dynamics.
