The Aston Martin DBRS9 is an advanced racing car based on the Aston Martin DB9 road car and incorporating many design features from the full GT1 specification Aston Martin DBR9. This 12 cylinder, six litre engine has been tuned to produce 550bhp, while reducing total vehicle weight by 480kg to optimise the power to weight ratio. Carbon composite materials are used for the body panels, and polycarbonate side and rear windows contribute to the car's overall weight.
The DBRS9 has a six-speed H-pattern gearbox with can be upgraded to a full sequential racing box, and a double wishbone suspension fitted with two-way adjustable Koni dampers and stiffened competition springs. Practicality has not been forgotten either – the seat and steering wheel are easily adjustable and an optional passenger seat is available for demonstration drives. Removable body panels, a modular chassis and a package of spare parts simplify maintenance.
