The company was founded as Freestream in 2006 by Graham Halstead and Ben Scott-Geddes, the engineers, who used to work for McLaren. The same year, it was acquired by Caparo Vehicle Technologies.
Caparo T1 model was created as an affordable road racing car. As its creation was inspired by Formula One design, it includes many characteristics of a Formula One racing car like carbon fibre aerodynamic low drag body design, an adjustable twin element front wing, single element rear wing, and fowler flaps and a ground effect diffuser. The wings have road and track variants. The interior is rather simple and has no luxurious amenities. Caparo T1 has the maximum speed of 330 km/h.
