Chevrolet Equinox Sport
The 2008 Chevrolet Equinox Sport is a performance-oriented variant of the popular compact SUV, with an aggressive stance and sporting nature. It features a lowered suspension, bold 18-inch wheels, a powerful 263-horsepower (196 kW) DOHC engine, a six-speed automatic transmission with manual tap up/tap down control, a tuned exhaust, and body color fascias. The roof rack has been eliminated to add to the sleek design. According to Ed Peper, Chevrolet general manager, the Equinox Sport embodies value-driven performance without sacrificing the versatility customers expect. It will be offered with front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive models and arrive at Chevrolet dealerships in the third quarter of 2007.
Design details of the Equinox Sport include body colored front and rear fascias, a body color grille cross bar, silver-painted trapezoidal air inlets in the front fascia, and dual chrome trapezoidal-shaped exhaust outlets in the rear fascia.
