The 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV is an all-electric urban mini-car, ideal for fun yet efficient driving. Its GM-built motor and drive unit provide up to 400 lb.-ft. (542 Nm) of torque and a top speed of 90 mph, accelerating from 0-60 in less than eight seconds. Storing that power is a 21-kWh lithium-ion battery which provides a combined city/highway EPA-estimated range of 82 miles with an impressive 119 MPGe fuel economy equivalent. Chevrolet Spark EV builds on Chevrolet's proven electric motor and battery development for the Chevrolet Volt, along with its full-size truck and SUV hybrid programs.
The vehicle also offers three levels of recharging capability, including the first SAE combo charger for DC fast charging; in just 20 minutes, it can charge up to 80% of the battery. Aero refinements, custom wheels and tires, and an active shutter system on the grille opening also extend the Chevy Spark EV's range. Inside, the standard MyLink Infotainment System features a seven-inch color touch-screen with EV functions, plus compatible apps for Pandora, Stitcher, TuneIn Global Radio, and BringGo navigation for iOS devices. And with iPhones, the system also brings the Siri Personal Assistant into the car.
