Chevrolet WTCC Ultra Concept

At the Paris Motor Show, the Chevrolet WTCC Ultra is the star of the show not only for its fierce looks, but even more so for its strong statement. The design takes Chevrolet's known styling language to a whole new level. David Lyon, Executive Director of GM Asia-Pacific Design shares his vision for the concept: “We wanted a Chevrolet muscle car, reinvented for Europe, that brings to life its long-standing racing heritage with a futuristic design.” The concept car designed by a global team of GM experts, was conceptualized to bend the current WTCC regulations. Celebrating their second victory in the World Touring Car Championship, Chevrolet's Europe Chief Wayne Brannon adds, “The WTCC is a great example of how we can emotionally connect with our brand.” Built to match the new range of diesel models, the WTCC Ultra (length/width/height with spoiler: 4,324/1,906/1,569 mm, wheelbase: 2,650 mm) is integrated with a powerful 1,991 cm3 diesel engine that puts out 139 kW/190 hp. A four-cylinder common rail unit with four-valve technology and variable turbine blade geometry, powers the Chevrolet Captiva. The engine was enhanced by increasing the turbo boost pressure to accommodate for the rise of power.
