Daihatsu Fourtrak

In 1993, the second generation Daihatsu Fourtrak was released to the public, with export sales beginning in the subsequent year. This model brought a few advances, such as the switch from leaf spring axle to an independent four-wheel suspension system. In addition, the standard petrol engine was increased to a 2.2L unit, with power output going from 67kW to 91kW. The 2.8 Turbo Diesel was also improved with the assistance of an intercooler, resulting in an increase of 75kW. Although features had been improved, some critiques felt the Daihatsu Fourtrak was still somewhat outdated - namely lacking rear doors on the longh wheel base model. Despite this, Daihatsu opted not to replace it and continued to focus on smaller vehicles. This article is licensed under the GNU Free Documentation License. It uses material from Wikipedia.
