Daihatsu Move 1996 posters

Daihatsu Move

The Daihatsu Move is a Kei car produced by the Japanese automaker Daihatsu since August 1995. The aim of the design was to make a car that was as tall as a compact car like the Suzuki Wagon R. Daihatsu was able to sell 500,000 Moves within the first three years of production. It is based on the Daihatsu Cuore's chassis, but with a taller body. The second-generation Move (L900) used the same chassis as the first generation (L600). In 2002, the third-generation Move (L150/L160) was released. In October 2006, the fourth-generation Move was released, equipped with a KF-VE-type non-turbo engine and a CVT (continuously variable transmission) for better performance and fuel economy of 23 km/L. This Move was also one of the few Kei cars available with optional side curtain airbags. The Move can be fitted with a 660cc engine, or with an 850cc and 1000cc engine for export markets.
