Dodge Dakota Club Cab 2005 posters

Dodge Dakota Club Cab

The Dodge Dakota Club Cab is a mid-size pickup truck from DaimlerChrysler's Dodge brand. It was first introduced in 1987, appearing alongside the redesigned Dodge Ram 50. For its impressive features and design, the Dakota was nominated for the North American Truck of the Year award in 2000. The Dakota always boasted size greater than compact pickup trucks like the Ford Ranger and Chevrolet S-10, and less than full-sized trucks such as the Ford F-150 and Chevrolet Silverado. Further unique features included a conventional body-on-frame construction with leaf spring/live axle rear end, and an optional V8 engine--the only available in a mid-size pickup--as well as rack and pinion steering, another feature that was a first in a work truck. The 2005 model, however, has gotten an impressive redesign. It now shares its platform with the Dodge Durango SUV, and is bigger in size as well, coming in at 3.7 inches longer and 2.7 inches wider. The new front and rear suspension and rack and pinion steering offers an even smoother ride. There are three engine options available: the standard 3.7 L PowerTech V6 and two 4.7 L V8s. The Dakota is manufactured at the Warren Truck Assembly in Warren, Michigan.
