Dodge Magnum RT
The Dodge Magnum was a station wagon version of the Chrysler 300 introduced in 2004. It is Dodge’s first full-size American station wagon since the discontinuation of the Chevrolet Caprice/Buick Roadmaster Estate wagons in 1996. Even though the Magnum's interior dimensions are closer to those of Ford Taurus wagon, it has had stunning success, easily outselling its predecessor, the Dodge Intrepid.
Four engine options are available in the Magnum - the SE features a 190-hp 2.7 L LH V6, while the SXT has a 250-hp 3.5 L V6 and the RT has a 5.7 L Hemi V8. The SRT-8 adds on a 425-hp 6.1 Hemi engine. In 2005, all-wheel drive was made available in the SXT and RT models.
Dodge has also announced plans for the Magnum to be available in a police variant with specific police-oriented features such as bulletproof glass and a steering-column mounted shifter. The vehicle is built in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, and was on Car and Driver's Ten Best list for 2005.
