Ford Mustang Boss 302

The 1969 Ford Mustang received an extensive restyle, with its body being 3.8 inches longer than originally and its width increasing by half an inch. Along with this, the iconic corralled grille pony was swapped for the classic pony and tribars logo which was placed off-center near the driver’s side. It was also the first year to feature the quad headlamps. The 1969 model year also saw the introduction of the Ford Mustang Mach 1. With various engine options, performance features like NASCAR-style cable and pin tiedowns, and styling cues such as reflective striping along the body sides and a black matte hood with a simulated air scoop, this model was incredibly popular and led to the production of 72,458 cars. The Boss 302 and its iconic hockey-stick stripes were introduced in order to meet Trans Am rules, while the more subtle Boss 429 homologated the Boss 429 engine for NASCAR use. Both of these highly sought after models only saw 1628 and 859 sales respectively, making them rare to find.
