GM Holden unveiled its all new VE Ute range, the latest model in a line-up stretching back almost 60 years of Australian motoring. Representing the ultimate progression from Holden's VU series of 2000, the VE Ute offers so much more in terms of features, interior space, storage and performance. Holden's investment of $1.105 billion and over 650,000 kms of testing has seen the production of a vehicle that embodies both sports car performance and workhorse practicality.
The all new VE Ute was created and built in Australia, making it the first locally produced ute to provide standard Electronic Stability Program (ESP®) crash avoidance safety technology implemented in the vehicle's high-strength steel frame. Speaking at the launch in Melbourne, GM Holden Chairman and Managing Director Chris Gubbey emphasised that the ute's story is representative of Australia itself - hard-working and enjoyable. He stated that the VE Ute "raises the bar... and sets new standards in safety, comfort, flexibility and performance."
