Honda P-NUT Concept

The Honda P-NUT Concept (Personal-Neo Urban Transport) features an ultra-compact and sophisticated city coupe that was unveiled at the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show. Honda designed it with a small footprint for maximum convenience in urban settings. It combines a center driving position configuration and a rear powertrain layout with crisp angles and dynamic flowing lines that start at the front and spread out to the rear. The result is a exterior that bars no style or amenities compromise while providing a spacious interior with great visibility. "The concept looks into the packaging and design of a vehicle ideal to the city lifestyle," said Dave Marek, director of advanced design for Honda R&D Americas, Inc. "It combines function and premium sophistication with maximum interior space and aerodynamic appearance." The layout of the interior includes a center driving position with two comfortable rear seats, providing legroom similar to a mid-sized sedan in a vehicle of a micro car's exterior size. The rear seating areas can be folded to increase storage. The windshield serves as a heads-up display for the navigation system and the back-up camera. The modular rear engine bay allows for a variety of propulsion technologies, such as an internal combustion engine, a hybrid gasoline-electric powertrain, or a battery-electric powertrain.
