The Honda car logo is a symbol of confidence and durability. It’s a silver-grey “H” letter, depicted broader on the top and thinner at the bottom and enhanced by the reflective light in background. However, the company’s subsidiaries have other emblems. For example, the motorcycle Honda logo contains wings as a symbol of speed and performance.
The company was established in 1946 by Soichiro Honda, a mechanic, who produced piston rings for Toyota. In 1949, Honda released its first motorcycle, Dream, and by 1964, it became the largest motorcycles manufacturer in the world. In 1963, the first car, T360, was produced. And just the same year, the brand presented its first sports car, S500. After the energetic crisis of 1973, economical Honda cars became the bestsellers in America and Europe. In 1986, Honda created brand Acura, which specializes in luxury cars.
In 1997, all-electric Honda EV Plus appeared and in 1999, Honda released Honda Insight, its first hybrid car. Later, it created almost all its basic models in hybrid variants as well. One of them is Honda Civic GX, which was named the greenest car in America. In 2008, the company started to produce FCX Clarity, a hybrid hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, which doesn’t pollute the atmosphere at all. In 2012, Honda cars were called the most secure according to the opinion of British insurance companies.
Besides cars and motorcycles, Honda also deals with power equipment (engines, mobility scooters, lawn mowers, trimmers etc), robots, aircraft (Honda Aircraft Company), solar cells (Honda Soltec) and quad bikes.
