Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) is a company, dealing with modification of Holden cars into performance vehicles. It’s headquartered in Clayton, Australia. more
HSV was founded in 1987 by Holden and Tom Walkinshaw Racing companies and replaced the Holden Dealer Team. In 1988, it developed its first car, the Holden VL Commodore SS Group A SV, which was badged by Holden. In 1990, the car won Bathurst 1000 race. SV88 was the first car, which was sold under the HSV brand.
The most famous HSV nameplates are Avalanche, Clubsport, Coupe, Grange, GTS, Maloo, Senator, SV88 and W427. HSV also modified the models of some other brands with V8 engines, but in very small amounts.
In 2000, HSV started to export its cars abroad, primarily to the UK. Later, the company entered the market of the Middle East, badged as CSV (Chevrolet Special Vehicles).
