Kia Rondo SX Concept

Kia Motors America (KMA) introduced the upgraded 2007 Kia Rondo to the public at the Los Angeles Auto Show last November, followed shortly thereafter at the Chicago International Auto Show by the debut of the Kia Rondo SX Concept, which demonstrates that functionality and excitement can work together. Executive Vice President and COO of KMA, Len Hunt, declared,"We've designed the new 2007 Rondo as a multi-purpose vehicle that doesn't compromise on excitement." The Kia Rondo SX Concept has been given a four-stage metallic gray paint job and design accents taken from the Rio and Spectra models, like a larger lower air intake, an integrated SX front fascia, a metal-mesh-inserted front grille, darkened headlight inner rings, and a modified rear fascia with metal-mesh vent insert, diffuser, and dual exhausts. The additional accessory body kit, which comes with an argent-colored rear spoiler and side fascias, has been painted in a contrasting metallic gray colour. 18-inch alloy wheels and 235/40R18 Michelin Pilot Sport performance tires give the vehicle an enhanced aerodynamic stance, while on the interior there are black leather-wrapped steering wheel with contrasting red stitching, gray leather with custom contrasted red leather trim and Alcantara inserts, and brushed stainless steel pedals. The Rondo SX Concept has also received some power improvements, with the 2.7-litre DOHC V6 upgraded with a cold-air intake and a cat-back exhaust system, upping the engine's output to 192 horsepower, and the ride height lowered by three inches to provide better cornering. Cross drilled and slotted brake rotors improve braking performance.
