Mercedes-Benz CLK designo by Giorgio Armani

The CLK by Giorgio Armani is a luxury car produced and sold by Mercedes-Benz from 2002 to 2004. In production since 2002, they are part of the W209 series, based on the W203 C-Class and are available in two styles, a coupe and a cabriolet. Powering the CLK is one of three engines: a V6 (CLK320 in '04, CLK350 thereafter), V8 (CLK500) and supercharged V8 (CLK55). The cabriolet version, which is designated with an A, as in CLK500A, features a fully automated retractable soft top and metal tonneau controlled via the key fob. Positioned to have a mid-luxury market for coupes and convertibles, the CLK is Mercedes-Benz's only four-seater cabriolet. Its main competitors in this market include the Volvo C70 and the Lexus SC430. However, with larger engines than its direct competitors, the CLK lies between the BMW 3 series coupe/cabriolet and the 6 series coupe/cabriolet. The driving characteristics of the car are excellent, providing great precision in terms of cornering, road conditions and weather. The vehicle's performance is comparable to the fastest sports cars on the market, with electronically-limited speeds of 135mph (CLK350 and CLK500) and 155mph (CLK55). The Electronic Stability Control and Anti-lock Break System are both great aids, with the former allowing for a 90 degree turn on a typical two-lane intersection from 50mph. The wheels are limited in their freedom, making drifting (fishtailing) difficult unless the ESP system is manually disabled.
