Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series
The Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series is making its grand entrance at the New York International Auto Show, open from April 6-15, 2007 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in Manhattan. It joins the ranks of the CL65 AMG 40th Anniversary edition, commemorating 40 years of remarkable AMG vehicles.
Taking cues from Formula One racing, the CLK63 Black Series is a 500 horsepower street-legal model of the Official F1™ Safety Car. It boasts 0-60 mph acceleration of 4.1 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 186 mph.
You can easily recognize this model with its carbon-fiber flared fenders featuring larger, staggered-width wheels and tires, along with AMG forged aluminum wheels outfitted with Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires. A 14.2 inch diameter for the front and 13 inch for the rear discs make up the vented and perforated composite brake discs, clearly visible through the wheels.
The exterior is completed with a fresh front apron complete with carbon cooling air intakes, lateral air outlets, and larger radiator. The side skirts and rear apron have also been redesigned with carbon-fiber air diffuser fins, enhancing its already-assertive sports car aesthetics.
