The Cabriolet version of the new 911 Carrera has arrived. Doubling the driving fun of the renowned Porsche, the 911 Carrera S Cabriolet offers an open-top model of the fresh, new 911 design. Clever lightweight design, including the use of magnesium in the hood, provides adequate sportiness, better fuel consumption, and improved comfort making it significantly lighter than its forerunners.
As with its Coupé brethren, the 911 Carrera Cabrio is powered by a 3.4-litre flat engine producing 350 horsepower (257 kW), operated by the seven-gear manual transmission. That said, the 911 Carrera S Cabriolet, with its 3.8-litre six-cylinder engine generating 400 hp (294 kW), makes the mainly open-top 911s further efficient; both models consume less than ten litres of fuel per 100 kilometres (NEDC). Making it even more economical, Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) is also available as an option, delivering lower fuel consumption and quicker acceleration times.
