Saab 9-X Air BioHybrid Concept
Making its debut at the 2008 Paris Motor Show, the Saab 9-X Air BioHybrid Concept is an innovative design study that explores what a future open-air Saab could look like. Its unique Canopy Top and wraparound glasshouse provide four-seat accommodation with the close-coupled proportions of a sports car. The rear pillars mount the flat-folding Canopy Top and are also anchoring the separate, recessed rear screen. With the Canopy Top opened, the Saab 9-X Air BioHybrid Concept offers an airy driving experience without buffeting. With the top closed, the coupe-like silhouette is accentuated.
Created in tandem with the Saab 9-X BioHybrid Concept, the Saab 9-X Air BioHybrid Concept features a small, 1.4-liter Saab BioPower engine as its powertrain. This highly efficient engine utilizes a combination of turbocharging, E85 bioethanol fuel and hybrid technologies.
