Saturn Sky Red Line
The newest offering in Saturn's revolutionary product revitalization, the Sky Red Line, is set to take the stage at the 2006 New York International Auto Show this Fall. Combining its attacking performance character with an eye-catching design, an immersive driver-focused interior, and high-level safety standards, the Red Line is ready to turn heads.
Pushing the performance envelope even further, this performance roadster is equipped with GM's Ecotec turbocharged 2.0-liter engine. The first direct injection engine offered in North America, this powerhouse delivers up to 260 horsepower (194 kw) and 260 lb.-ft. of torque (353 Nm), resulting in the highest engine specific output of any Ecotec engine on record.
Additionally, this direct injection technology plays a key role in maintaining the lower fuel consumption of a small displacement port-injected engine. Through increased power and economy, the Sky Red Line pays homage to its strong performance character.
Other performance-oriented feature equipments include: a torque-sensing limited slip differential, StabiliTrak electronic stability control, four-wheel independent short/long arm suspension, Bilstein monotube shocks with coil-over, hydraulically assisted rack-and-pinion power steering, and four-wheel disc brakes with standard ABS to ensure excellent stopping performance.
To complete the Red Line package, it features unique interior and exterior differences compared to the Sky roadster, such as dual exhaust with chrome polished outlets, 18-inch polished aluminum alloy wheels, and a lower fascia with large brak cooling vents and black headlamp bezels. An interior outfitted with a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, unique seatback and floormat embroidery, metallic sill plates, stainless steel pedal covers, Red Line-specific gauges, and a digital boost gauge included in the Driver Information Center further enhances its unique identity.
Since the Saturn Sky Red Line prioritizes safety over all else, the roadster is equipped with many features, including dual-stage frontal air bags, GM's Passenger Sensing System, four-wheel disc brakes with standard ABS, side-impact door beams, three-point safety belts with pretentioners and load-limiting retractors, and more.
