Seat Leon 1.9 TDI

The SEAT León is a small family car produced by Spanish automobile manufacturer SEAT since 1999. It uses the Volkswagen A platform and is closely related to the Volkswagen Golf, Audi A3, and Škoda Octavia. León Mk. I (1999-2005) The first-generation León depicted SEAT's best-selling model. It embodied a sporty, yet affordable variant of the VW Golf. Featuring a bold external design and firm suspension for improved handling, higher-end versions boast powerful engines. The engine portfolio contains a 1.4 L, two versions of the Volkswagen Group's 20 valve turbocharged 1.8 L, or a 2.8 L V6 with 204 PS (150 kW). The León Cupra gives a 1.8 Turbo with 180 PS (132 kW), plus the León Cupra R generates 225 PS (165 kW). A 150 PS (110 kW) version of VW's 1.9 TDI engine is also accessible. Some versions also include an all-wheel drive system which is based on the Haldex differential present in the VW Golf 4Motion. All engines over 130 PS (96 kW) are mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. León Mk. II The León Mk II was launched in 2006. Developed based on the platform of the VW Golf V, the exterior displays sharp features, somewhat integrated external rear door handles and hidden windshield wipers. Styling and design credit goes to Walter de'Silva. Though the car is relatively sporty, the engine selection does not entirely match that of the Golf. A 102 PS (75 kW) 8-valve 1.6 L motor is the base; the sportier models offer a 150 PS (110 kW) 2.0 FSI and a 140 PS (103 kW) 2.0 TDI Diesel. Both employ a standard six-speed manual transmission, with the DSG semi-auto gearbox as a possibility. A 185 PS (136 kW) 2.0 TFSI exclusive to the León, which despite strong performance and an attractive price, received little interest and was taken off sale.
