Koenigsegg was founded in 1994 by Christian von Koenigsegg, who wanted to create a world-class supercar. The company’s logo, based on the heraldic coat of arms of the Koenigsegg family, was created the same year. The first street-legal car, CC8S, was produced in 2002 though the first prototype was presented in 2000. Koenigsegg CCX, one of the most well-known cars of the brand, was created in 2006. In 2007, Koenigsegg introduced CCXR model, a biofuel version of the CCX.
In 2009, the Koenigsegg CCX was called one of the most beautiful cars in history. In 2010, Koenigsegg Ager gained the BBC Top Gear Hypercar of the Year Award.
Koenigsegg cars also set several records. In 2005, CCR model became the fastest production car in the world by reaching the speed of 388.87 km/h. In 2011, Koenigsegg Agera R broke the Guinness World Record by gaining the speed of 300 km/h for 14.53 seconds.
