The Infiniti logo is a stylized depiction of a road, extending into the horizon, stretching to "Infiniti". It symbolizes constant progress, aspiration to innovations and new achievements.
Infiniti appeared in the USA in 1989. The Q45, a performance luxury sedan, and the M30, a performance luxury coupe, were its first cars, based on Nissan President and Nissan Leopard. In 1997, Infiniti QX4 appeared, making the brand one of the first luxury car manufacturers, which produced a mid-size premium SUV. In 1999, the company launched Infiniti Owners Club.
Infinity is also a well-known innovator in car manufacturing. In 2001, it became one of the first brands, which used a laser-based digital rangefinder to detect vehicles ahead and help maintain the selected distance. In 2002, a voice recognition function was added to the cars, making it possible to control audio, climate and navigation settings with the help of voice. In 2007, Infiniti provided its cars with Around View Monitor, which helps to park the car easier. In 2010, Blind Spot Intervention System was introduced to detect and help to avoid vehicles in the blind spot area. In 2012, Back-Up Collision Intervention technology was created to avoid potential collision when backing up.
In 2010, Infiniti released its first hybrid, sedan M35h. In 2011, it signed a sponsorship contract with Red Bull Racing team and also became its technical partner.
Till 1996, these cars were sold only in the United States and Canada. The brand appeared in Europe in 2008. And only in 2013, it was formally introduced to Japan, its homeland.
