Lamborghini logo is a raging golden bull on a black shield. It symbolizes the power of Lamborghini sports cars. The bull was chosen because the company’s founder was Taurus by Zodiac sign and, in addition, he liked bullfighting. Moreover, many Lamborghini cars were named after famous fighting bulls.
The company was established in 1963 by Italian magnate Ferruccio Lamborghini. It’s considered that Lamborghini created his own automobile company because of his conflict with Enzo Ferrari. Thus, trying to prove that he could create a better car, Ferrucio released his first car, Lamborghini 350 GTV. Its 1966 car, Miura sports coupe with rear mid-engine, rear wheel drive, became the standard layout for high-performance cars of the 20th century.
Though the company developed fast in its first years, in 1978 it went bankrupt and was sold to Jean-Claude and Patrick Mimran. In 1987, Lamborghini was purchased by Chrysler Corporation. From 1994 to 1998, it was owned by Mycom Setdco and V'Power Corporation. In 1998, the brand was sold to the Volkswagen Group and since then is controlled by its subdivision, Audi AG. Audi made a huge impact on the design of Lamborghini cars. Its big technical abilities helped to create one of the most elegant Lamborghini cars ? Lamborghini Murcielago.
Moreover, throughout its history, Lamborghini released a number of concept cars, the most famous of which are 1967 Marzal, 1974 Bravo, 1980 Athon, 1987 Portofino, 1995 Cala, 1996 Raptor and 2010 Sesto Elemento. In 2012, the brand presented its Urus SUV, the first one since LM002. In 2014, it presented its first hybrid, Asterion LPI910-4.
An interesting fact is that Lamborghini licenses its brand to some other manufacturers. Thus, you can find clothes, accessories and, even, electronics branded like Lamborghini.
